Colin Guthrie has a passion for health and human performance.
For over 20 years, Colin Guthrie, PhD has lived and breathed high performance environments. His straight-forward approach as an executive coach and corporate educator has been honed through uniquely diverse experiences as a professional athlete, sport psychology consultant and trusted advisor to senior business teams, C-suite leaders of global companies in both Canada and the US and Olympic athletes.
Colin has experience leading diverse teams of professionals. From 2005-2012 he provided leadership to an interdisciplinary group of sports science and medicine professionals for Canada’s Own the Podium organization. Colin also acted as a sport psychology consultant to Olympic sailors and coaches at three Olympic games (Athens, Beijing and London).
Working with senior leadership teams with a number of significant corporations, Colin’s recent experience includes an intensive three-year assignment within the legal department of an oil field services Fortune 200 company, coaching CEO succession and talent development with the largest processor and marketer of value added seafood in North America and guiding high potential development with one of the Big Four accounting firms.
Colin holds citizenship with the US, Canada, and the EU. He earned his Undergraduate and Masters degrees (Kinesiology) from Dalhousie University (1998) in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and his PhD (Kinesiology/Behavioural Science) from Temple University (2008). While attending Temple, Colin also completed a Graduate Certificate in Disability Studies.
Personal time for Colin is spent with his wife raising their two children, helping them develop their appreciation of family, community and sailing.
